Get Feedback by Sharing Your Documents
Need a colleague to review your work? Sharing a document is a great way to collaborate and get valuable feedback from experts, like a product manager who designed the feature or an engineer with deep knowledge. You can easily send them a direct link to your document.
Why Share a Document?
Sharing your documentation ensures accuracy and clarity. When you invite others to review your work, you can:
Catch errors or omissions you might have missed.
Get a fresh perspective from a subject matter expert.
Ensure the information is easy for everyone to understand.
Collaborate with in-line comments
You can collaborate with colleagues using in-line comments directly on documentation updates. Select the comment icon on an action item to open the discussion thread and mention your teammates.
To find out which colleague to message about a specific update, select the three dots on the action item, then select View source. This displays the name of the person who made the code change so you can contact them for clarification.
How to Share a Document
There are two ways to share your documentation with colleagues for review:
Public preview link
You can generate a public preview link that allows anyone to view the document without needing a Solo account.
Navigate to the document you want to share.
Select the share icon or go to the three dots menu and select Share preview link.
Send the copied link to your colleague.
Direct URL sharing
You can share the direct URL of the document. This requires colleagues to create a Solo account to view and collaborate.
Navigate to the document you want to share.
Copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
Send the link to your colleague. They will be prompted to create an account if they do not have one.
